Establishment of primary cell culture on bio scaffolds targeted for tissue repairing and engineering
Description
A number of different biomaterials has been designed in order to provide experimental surgery with adequate scaffolds for tissue repairing and replacement. In vitro experiments using cell cultures to test these materials for feasibility, cito-toxicity, biocompatibility etc are needed. To this purpose we have established protocols that allow us to prepare primary cultures of chondrocytes that are grown on tri-dimensional scaffolds. Growth kinetic, viability and cell-to-cell communications are then studied in these cells with both molecular and morphological approaches
